I used to get most of my reading done in the summer. Not sure if it was the sun being up later, or that I would use reading as an excuse to sit and relax when the tempatures got up to high though.
So, what is everyone going to be reading in the coming months? _________________ "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them." ~Ray Bradbury

| I'm so busy right now, I'm still grinding through the PKD and Stanislaw Lem books. But I hope to get to Tess of the D'Urbevilles soon. I don't have any definite plans, though. I don't think the summer really changes my habits, though. |

Well, I've got about 3 or 4 books to go through concerning stuff about King Arthur, which concern books I've read before, but have long forgotten. I was going to go through them meticulously, but I haven't got time.
Then there are me books on drawing the traditional way, as well as digitally. Not sure though when I'm going to get of me a**e and, err lie down (in order) to get some quality reading time in. _________________ Life is a bowl of raspberries |

A friend of mine just wrote a script based on the Arthurian legends, about Morgan La Fey coming back to the 21st century. It wasn't too bad, actually, for a first draft. |

Blimey, I hope she's not out to get me for writing my silly King Halfer stories. _________________ Life is a bowl of raspberries |

I just finished reading God Is Dead. Yep, a real breezy summertime read. _________________ "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them." ~Ray Bradbury

Looks like a book that most people would probably find uplifting, though the title may lead to others not familiar with its contents to assume otherwise, maybe?
My reading at the moment isn't going at all well, as I'm forever creating ideas with almost every thought that comes into my mind. It's driving me bonkers. _________________ Life is a bowl of raspberries |

Heh.
I think it's a book that will be rolling around inside my brain for quite a while. There were some funny moments. Absurd moments. Sad moments. But it was a good fast read. I bought the book yesterday. I finished it at around 2:00 today. I won't give a way any details, but it's a collection of short stories that all take place after God has died. In the first short story, there is a pretty funny, (and oh boy do I wish it weren't fictional), exchange between Colin Powell and the President. _________________ NYPinTA goodness is now 100% natural! |

Just finished the Lem book, which - since it was about the Nazi invasion of Poland - didn't end too happily. Cest la vie. A friend of mine sent me the Frank Darabont script for Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods. It's actually a little dense in terms of how a script reads.
But after a bit of a hiatus, I'm going to pick up Tess of the D'Urbevilles, and get cracking on that. |
